Big congrats to Leslie & Pekoe on achieving his AGMCh at the Tibetan Terrier Club of Canada trial at Dreamfields today!

This past weekend was the annual OVGRC/OVPC (aka “Goldenpoo”) CKC agility trial at Dreamfields. Some rain one day and a misty start the next made for some challenging conditions. Still there were some nice runs and many new titles! Special congrats to Helen and Taxi on achieving their AGMCh.

I’ve been remiss in not posting to the blog recently. Had a lot on! At the end of May we went to the Ontario Regional Championships in Fergus, where Tyra placed 4th in her division. No sooner had I arrived home than I was leaving again. This time for Orangeville, where I was taking the Masters Judging Clinic. On the way back I stopped in Belleville to take in the Belleville KC CKC agility trial. Saturday was a beautiful day and I snapped a couple of photos in a quiet moment.
Sad news for Elaine. She lost Dodie to cancer on Saturday. She turned 12 years old on January 19th.
Dodie began competing in agility late in life, at the age of 9, and very quickly earned Q after Q to attain her ATChC in July 2008. She finished 2009 just 6 standard runs away from her Lifetime Achievement Award, in less than 3 years of competing, which was quite incredible. Dodie adored working with Elaine and was always happy running agility with her.
Tyra and I were at a CARO rally trial this afternoon (we did pretty well, BTW 🙂 ). I discovered that after the trial finished in the afternoon, two of the organizers, Bev & Anthea, were also giving an agility demo for the participants of the Purina Walk for Dog Guides which was taking place that afternoon. The walkers were due back at the community centre at 2pm and were being treated to some dog agility and given the chance to try it out for themselves. Here is a selection of some of the participants.
I uploaded the photos from the TT Veteran Commemorative run onto zenfolio. They have a neat embeddable slideshow option. I’m going to try it out here.
Sunday saw the now annual veterans commemorative run at the Tibetan Terrier Club of Canada CKC agility trial at Dreamfields.. Penny, the club’s vice president, came up with the idea to commemorate all our veteran agility dogs of 11 years and older who are still with us and able to run. What’s even more amazing is that two of the dogs in the veteran’s parade are still actively competing in agility at the ages of 13.

You can see a slideshow of all the shots here in my zenfolio gallery
A couple more photos from the CKC agility trial – and the cutest puppy ever! The puppy’s name is Whistler and belongs to Linda Howie. I won’t say who the sheltie on the dogwalk is, but the owner should recognize the somewhat familiar sight….
