Big congrats go out to Louise Bastien and her Golden Retriever Lacey for winning the 2010 HiT of HiTs out of the Novice class. She was was also the first place winner in Utility with her older Golden, Marlou.
Candids of all the competitors from the event can be viewed here http://www.muddypawz.net/html_site/hitofhits10/
Here is a small selection from Lacey’s routine

It’s a lot of fun actually 🙂
We haven’t had a lot of snow this year so whenever there’s fresh snowfall, the dogs love to go outside and play in it. Here’s Indy, playing frisbee.

Many titles earned at the Ottawa Valley Golden Retriever Club Obedience trial on 13th and 14th. Big congrats to all!
One treat for me was photographing Trey, who was just a little pup at the last trial in November (remember the dragon slayer)
Here he is all grown up
Sad news for Elaine. She lost Dodie to cancer on Saturday. She turned 12 years old on January 19th.
Dodie began competing in agility late in life, at the age of 9, and very quickly earned Q after Q to attain her ATChC in July 2008. She finished 2009 just 6 standard runs away from her Lifetime Achievement Award, in less than 3 years of competing, which was quite incredible. Dodie adored working with Elaine and was always happy running agility with her.
Happy to report that my image has been taken down from the website in question and replaced by an image from iStock.
For the record, I have no objections to my photos being used on websites as long as permission is asked, the image has been purchased and photo credit is given. Not too much to ask is it!
Just for fun, here’s the photo of Madge which caused the fuss in the first place. She was such a pretty and flamboyant dog.
Madge
EDIT: The owner of the facility called me today to let me know that it had been taken care of, which was much appreciated.
I still don’t know where their website admin got the picture from, I may never know.
I was recently alerted to the fact that a doggie daycare in the GTA was using one of my photos on their website with no photo credit, and worse still – NO PERMISSION!
Contact info leaves much to be desired – no names of any of the staff on their website and just an “info@” email address. Sent an e-mail last week, no reply, so sent a second e-mail today.
The photo has obviously been lifted from one of my websites, as opposed to being scanned from a magazine as the exif is still intact with MY information included.
I would have still been oblivious if it wasn’t for a sharp-eyed friend alerting me to the image.
The moral of this story is – if you don`t want people using your images, don`t post them on the internet AT ALL. Or – if you do post them on the internet – watermark the heck out of them!
2010 is here and I’d like to wish everyone the best for the coming year!
